“Tuloy ang Bayanihan, TB ay Tuldukan” Event in Taguig City

On World TB Day on March 19th, the City of Taguig demonstrated its commitment to tackling this global health issue by hosting a dynamic seminar in collaboration with the City Health Office Taguig and TBpeople Philippines Organization Inc.

The event at the prestigious New City Hall Convention Center in Taguig served as a platform to amplify public understanding and engagement surrounding tuberculosis. Under the banner of this year’s theme, “Tuloy ang Bayanihan, TB ay Tuldukan,” attendees were reminded of the collective effort needed to eliminate tuberculosis by 2030.

Over 200 participants actively participated in the seminar, including Barangay Chairpersons, SK Chairpersons, Barangay Laboratory Aides, and TB survivors. They not only gained important insights into managing tuberculosis but also emerged as advocates for awareness and prevention within their respective communities.

Central to the seminar was the introduction of the innovative Discipleship Program, spearheaded by TBpeople Philippines. This program is designed to fortify the city’s efforts in empowering TB survivors, equipping them with vital skills, resources, and support to navigate life post-diagnosis.

Furthermore, attendees were enriched with a comprehensive wellness lecture, underscoring the significance of holistic approaches to health. Emphasizing the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being, this session reinforced the role of overall wellness in combating tuberculosis and fostering healthier communities.

The honored presence of Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano added further gravitas to the event, as she reaffirmed her unwavering support for such initiatives aimed at enhancing public health and welfare.

Through collaborative endeavors like these, the City of Taguig is not only raising awareness but also actively nurturing a culture of solidarity and action in the fight against tuberculosis.
