Unified Initiative for Tuberculosis Eradication: A Courtesy Call to Quezon City Health Office

On February 20, 2024, a significant step towards combatting Tuberculosis (TB) was taken during a courtesy call to the Quezon City Health Office at Tatalon Health Center. The meeting, led by Dr. Marizel Wong, NTP City Medical Coordinator of Quezon City, brought together a dedicated group including members of the TBpeople Philippines Team: Ms. Louie Zepeda-Teng, Nino Magpusao, Marcus Teng, Micheal Lugtu, and Alvin Ferry.

The primary focus of the discussion was the establishment of TBpeoplePH Quezon City Discipleship—a city association comprising TB survivors, close contacts, and healthcare providers. This association aims to synergize efforts and collaborate closely with Quezon City Health in the ongoing battle against Tuberculosis, with an unwavering goal to End TB supported by Johnson and Johnson Philippines ultimately.

Founder and President of TBpeoplePH, Ms. Louie Zepeda-Teng, passionately presented the initiative and sought support from Quezon City Chief Executive, Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte. The initiative seeks to garner support for the Fast Track The Cure Campaign #6MonthsMax, a collaborative effort in partnership with TB Alliance New York.

The Fast Track The Cure Campaign #6MonthsMax is a vital endeavor that necessitates concerted efforts to accelerate the pace of finding a cure for TB. The collaboration with TB Alliance New York underscores the commitment to innovation and global cooperation in the fight against this infectious disease.
