TBpeople Davao attend the City Government Caravan in Davao

On March 23, 2025, TBpeople Davao President Ms. Cherry Florida represented TBpeople Philippines at a City Government Caravan held in Barangay Talomo, Davao City.

The event provided Ms. Florida with a valuable opportunity to connect with local government officials. A key highlight was her meeting with Mayor Sebastian Duterte of Davao City. During their interaction, Ms. Florida introduced TBpeople Philippines’ mission and the organization’s various initiatives aimed at combating TB.

She also expressed interest in a potential courtesy call with Mayor Duterte in the future. This courtesy call could serve as a platform for a more in-depth discussion about TBpeople’s work and how the organization can collaborate with the Davao City government in tackling the challenge of TB in the community.

The engagement between Ms. Florida and Mayor Duterte signifies a key step towards strengthening partnerships between civil society organizations and local government entities in the fight against tuberculosis. Her attendance at the City Government Caravan and her engagement with Mayor Duterte exemplify TBpeople Vismin’s proactive approach to tuberculosis advocacy and community engagement.
