Free X-ray Screening for Active TB Case Finding in Dasmariñas, Cavite

A free X-ray screening event was held at the Summerwind Covered Court in Burol Main, Dasmariñas, Cavite. This initiative, aimed at active case finding, was made possible through the collaborative efforts of TBPeople Philippines, the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), and the City Health Education and Promotion Unit of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dasmariñas, Cavite.

The event highlights the importance of early detection and treatment of TB, an important step in ensuring the health and safety of our communities. By providing free X-ray screenings, the organizers aim to identify TB cases at an early stage, which is crucial for effective treatment and prevention of the disease’s spread. This activity is part of a broader mission to eradicate TB in the Philippines. Early detection through X-ray screenings is a proven method to identify TB cases that might otherwise go unnoticed. By catching the disease early, patients can receive timely treatment, significantly reducing the risk of transmission and improving health outcomes.

The impact of this event extends beyond the immediate health benefits. It encourage a sense of community and shared responsibility in tackling public health challenges. Residents of Dasmariñas City have shown great enthusiasm and participation, reflecting a collective commitment to a healthier future. TBpeople Philippines and partners hope to make significant strides towards a TB-free Philippines, ensuring that more communities benefit from early detection and treatment services.

Together, we are making meaningful progress in the fight against TB, one screening at a time.
