TBPeople Philippines attended the Second National Health Systems Meeting (NHSM)

Founder and President of TBPeople Philippines Ms. Louie-Zepeda-Teng attended the 2nd National Health Systems Meeting (NHSM) held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, together with other panelists Undersecretary of Health – Dr. Kenneth G. Ronquillo, 1st District Representative of Iloilo – Dr. Janette L. Garin, WHO Representative to the Philippines Dr. Rui Paulo De Jesus, City Administrator of Navotas City – Dr. Christia Padolina and Professor V, Community Medicine and Health Policy, College of Medicine – Philippine General Hospital, University of the Philippines – Dr. Portia Fernandez-Marcelo.

Ms. Louie Zepeda-Teng, as part of the panel on health equity shared another perspective on having good direction on the budget for the Department of Health (DOH). Also, she represents persons with tuberculosis and persons with disabilities. In her remarks, she emphasized the need for strategic planning and prioritization to maximize the impact of available resources.

Her presence at the 2nd National Health Systems Meeting was instrumental in advancing the dialogue surrounding healthcare equity and resource allocation. Her advocacy for the tuberculosis community, persons with tuberculosis, and persons with disabilities underscores the importance of inclusive policymaking in promoting holistic health outcomes.
