Breaking Ground in Liliw Laguna!
On March 6, 2024, the TBpeople Philippines team, with the generous support of Johnson & Johnson and Getz Healthcare, embarked on a groundbreaking visit to the Tsinelas Capital of the Philippines, Liliw Laguna. Our journey led us to the honorable Mayor, Hon. Ildefonso D. Monleon, accompanied by the dedicated Municipal Health Officers.
During this significant visit, we had the privilege to introduce the life-changing programs of TBpeoplePH, sharing our strategic plans and seeking the valuable support and guidance of Mayor Monleon. Recognizing the profound impact Mayor Monleon’s endorsement could have on our mission, TBpeoplePH believes that his involvement will significantly fortify our fight against TB within his jurisdiction.
In a touching moment, Mayor Monleon shared the personal connection he holds to TB, recounting the story of his late father who battled the same illness. Touched by the survival stories we shared, he wholeheartedly declared his support, along with the entire government of Liliw Laguna and his own family, in championing the advocacy of TBpeople Philippines.
Mayor Monleon’s advocacy undoubtedly adds weight to our tireless efforts, acting as a catalyst to inspire others to join us in combatting TB and contributing to the well-being of the community in Liliw, Laguna.
Furthermore, we extended our heartfelt appeal to Mayor Monleon for support in the Fast Track the Cure Campaign #6MonthsMax. This critical initiative petitions world leaders and global partners to commit to providing universal access to new, shorter, and more effective treatments for Drug-Resistant TB by the year 2024.
With TBpeople Philippines Organization bringing a wealth of experience and expertise in TB advocacy and support, our team is fully prepared to extend training and guidance to the people of Liliw, Laguna.
