Courtesy Call to the City Health Office in Tacloban City

The organization made a courtesy call to Dr. Gloria Enriquez Fabrigas, MD, MPH, the Chief of the City Health Office (CHO) in Tacloban City. The primary aim of this meeting was twofold:

  1. Introduction of the Discipleship Program: This program is designed to empower TB survivors by providing them with the tools and knowledge to become advocates and leaders in their communities. By sharing their experiences and insights, these survivors can help others navigate the challenges of TB treatment and recovery.
  2. Establishment of the City Association of TBpeople Tacloban: This plan aims to nurture a collaborative environment where TB patients, healthcare providers, and community members can work together to support TB prevention and treatment efforts in Tacloban City.

The meeting also served as a platform to promote the advocacy efforts of various organizations dedicated to fighting TB. By raising awareness and encouraging collaboration, TBpeople Philippines aims to strengthen the collective response to TB in Tacloban City. For those unfamiliar with the organization, TBpeople Philippines provided a brief introduction, outlining its mission, goals, and key initiatives. This helped establish a foundation for future collaboration and support.

The courtesy call to Dr. Gloria Enriquez Fabrigas and the discussions held during the meeting mark an important milestone for TBpeople Philippines in Tacloban City. The introduction of the Discipleship Program and the establishment of the City Association of TBpeople Tacloban are expected to significantly boost local efforts to combat TB. Through continued advocacy and collaboration, TBpeople Philippines is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those affected by tuberculosis in Tacloban City.
